Kronos Debuts Workforce Tablet

Kronos has debuted its Workforce Tablet, a tablet app that delivers real-time, location-specific workforce information to frontline managers, allowing them to more effectively manage in the moment. Kronos also announced the availability of Workforce Task Management, an application within the Kronos Workforce Management suite of solutions, helping organizations to realize identify the benefits of a strategy before taking a more strategic and comprehensive approach to managing their workforce.
 
Workforce Tablet is a solution developed for the Apple iPad, providing an anytime, anyplace, instant connection to the Kronos Workforce Central suite. The tablet provides workforce management mobile application capabilities with the processing power, large-screen real estate, and usability of an iPad. Key features include analytics, geosensing, scheduling, staffing and time card approvals, and is available in English, Spanish, French, Dutch and simplified or traditional Chinese.
 
Kronos' Workforce Task Management is a solution that provides all users with information specific to task execution, simplifying store execution with a streamlined approach to create, approve, execute and verify tasks. It also increases sales and customer satisfaction by ensuring that tasks are completed on time and consistently across locations. The solution integrates with Kronos time and attendance, forecasting and scheduling, budgeting, absence management, HR and payroll, hiring and labor analytics applications.


Fujitsu and VeriFone Team Up for Mobile POS

VeriFone and Fujitsu have partnered for a mobile retailing solution that is powered by VeriFone GlobalBay and integrated with the Fujitsu GlobalStore solution. It can also operate as a standalone mobile POS.

The solutions provide Fujitsu retail customers with a mobile POS, enabling retailers to serve consumers from anywhere in the store. Featuring support for advanced mobile payment acceptance, the solutions include digital wallets and alternative payments.
 
Retailers look to mobile solutions to increase revenue, improve store operations and enhance the consumer shopping experience. With emerging mobile devices, payment technologies, and loyalty and promotional offers, retailers have a complex landscape to navigate.


Staples Offers NCR Small Business Mobile POS Solution

Staples will begin offering the NCR Silver mobile point-of-sale solution in its stores this month. The system, aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses, operates on Apple iOS devices like the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and will be prominently displayed on aisle endcaps in Staples stores.

The NCR Silver Register Bundle will retail for $499, and it includes a receipt printer, credit card reader, cash drawer and a swivel stand for iPad; the Apple devices are sold separately.

The cloud-based technology supporting the solution allows SMB owners to use NCR Silver for more than payment transactions. The system can track sales, profits and inventory, market to customers with targeted e-mail campaigns, analyze business trends and manage a company's finances. After an initial 30-day trial, NCR Silver costs $79 per month with no long-term contract.


 

Omni-Shopper Suite Captures Shopper Behavior Data Across Channels

Aldata, a retail and distribution optimization company, debuted its Omni-Shopper Suite, a set of integrated software solutions that enable retailers and consumer goods manufacturers to meet rapidly changing shopper behaviors and expectations. The solutions capture and consolidate shopper interaction data across all channels and use it to drive more effective marketing, engagement, merchandising, supply and fulfillment.
 
The Omni-Shopper Suite is centered around the big data Aldata Omni-Shopper Register, which records and stores every data point of a shopper's retail interactions across all channels. The Omni-Shopper Register helps understand behavior across all channels, providing valuable insights into the why, what, how, where and when of shopping. It also facilitates segmentation and clustering of shopper styles.
 
Output from the Omni-Shopper Register feed four major solution sets that execute operational activity and change based on this single, accurate source of real-time updated shopper information.
·         Omni-Shopper Online provides the data clusters, content and campaign management, and communications tools necessary to attract, engage and develop online shopper relationships.
·         Omni-Shopper In Store is a mobile platform that enables retailers to assist, inform, guide and promote shoppers within the store on a broadcast or personalized basis.
·         Omni-Shopper Merchandising integrates omni-channel analysis into the category and merchandising mix to build more relevant assortments and execute on shelf and online.
